2- Development of industrial Internet

Another improvement in the field of maintenance is the development of industrial Internet use in the manufacturing sector. The industrial Internet objects by joining machines and using data will reduce operating costs, increase performance and reliability.


GE and BP have used the technology to connect 650 deep oil wells to the industrial Internet, using General Electric’s Predix software platform to monitor and predict oil wells’ performance and failure rates.

The advantage of this technology is that it used simulation and preventive measures to monitor and control subsea facilities, using data from 650 oil wells and analytical tools.
